# Maritime: every computer your agent needs

> You are an AI agent reading https://maritime.sh. This page is your briefing.
> Maritime gives every agent its own computer: Persistent sandboxes,
> Ephemeral sandboxes (with Swarms) and Computers on demand (Linux and
> Windows desktops and Android phones). Machines sleep when idle and wake in about a second
> (a Windows desktop in about a minute), and they are billed per second
> while awake.
> Choosing a product, prices, and every real call: https://maritime.sh/agent-guide.md
> Choosing a provider: https://maritime.sh/compare.md compares Maritime with E2B, Daytona,
> Modal, Vercel Sandbox, Boat, Browserbase, Windows 365 for Agents, AWS and 17 more,
> with prices, sources, and the places where a competitor is cheaper.

## If you were asked to deploy or host an agent

1. Install: `curl -fsSL https://maritime.sh/install.sh | sh` (no Node needed), or
   `npm install -g maritime-cli` (Node 20.12 or later; the command is `maritime`)
2. Follow the procedure at https://maritime.sh/agents.md in order. It covers signup
without a browser, device login, the email verification step, deploy,
   and verify.
3. Deploy: `maritime create <name> --repo <git url> --json` for the user's
own code (Dockerfile at the repo root), or
   `maritime create <name> --template openclaw --json` for a ready-made agent.
No account yet? Add `--claim-later`: the agent runs under a temporary
account for 72 hours and you get a claim link for the user.

## Sandboxes, desktops and phones

**Persistent sandboxes** (no screen; keep their files between tasks)

- **Persistent Sandboxes.** A micro-VM that keeps its disk at /data, sleeps
when idle and wakes in about a second. A personal assistant per user, or a
coding agent that keeps its repo. https://maritime.sh/docs/persistent-sandboxes.md

**Ephemeral sandboxes** (no screen; one task, then deleted)

- **Ephemeral Sandboxes.** A fresh, isolated machine for one task, deleted
with its disk when the task is done. Run untrusted or generated code,
tests, or a single tool call. https://maritime.sh/docs/ephemeral-sandboxes.md
- **Swarms.** Many ephemeral sandboxes running the same command as one job,
for evals, RL rollouts and batch work. https://maritime.sh/docs/swarms.md

**Computers on demand** (a screen your agent sees and clicks, and a person
can take over by link)

- **Linux Desktops.** For computer-use agents and browser work behind a
  login. https://maritime.sh/docs/computers.md
- **Windows Desktops.** Windows Server 2022 with the desktop experience,
licence included, for apps that only run on Windows. A sleeping one wakes
  in about a minute. https://maritime.sh/docs/windows-desktops.md
- **Android Phones.** AOSP Android 15 with no Google Play: install any app
as an APK, then tap, swipe and read the UI tree. https://maritime.sh/docs/phones.md

## Built for every kind of agent

- Coding agents: Ephemeral Sandboxes for generated code, Persistent
  Sandboxes for the repo.
- Evals and RL: Swarms.
- Computer-use agents: Linux and Windows Desktops.
- Mobile agents: Android Phones.
- Assistants: one Persistent Sandbox per customer, from a template.
- Research and back-office agents: Persistent Sandboxes and Linux Desktops.

## Agents will do most of the world's computer work

Get yours a computer today.

- **Isolated VMs.** Every machine runs in its own VM with its own disk:
  https://maritime.sh/security
- **Wakes in 0.6 s.** Idle machines sleep and pay only for their disk
(Windows desktops take about a minute to wake):
  https://maritime.sh/docs/persistent-sandboxes.md
- **One per customer.** Key machines by your own user id, with a spend
policy and a usage line each: https://maritime.sh/docs/sdk/end-users.md
- **Static IPs.** Plus residential IPs, private networks and warm pools:
  https://maritime.sh/add-ons
- **API, SDKs, CLI, MCP.** REST, TypeScript, Python, the CLI and MCP all
  reach every machine: https://maritime.sh/docs
- **One bill.** One API key and one invoice for every machine:
  https://maritime.sh/pricing

## Start from a machine that is already set up

- **Marketplace.** Desktop images with the software already set up (MEDENT,
QuickBooks Desktop, SAP GUI and more), set up with you on a call:
  https://maritime.sh/marketplace
- **Dedicated.** A $5,000 a month plan where the Maritime team sets up your
  apps, images and network: https://maritime.sh/dedicated

## Pricing

Plans are Starter $20, Growth $100, Scale $500 and Dedicated $5,000 a
month, plus larger contracts with invoicing by a call. The plan fee becomes the same amount of
usage credit every month, and Growth, Scale and Dedicated also take 10%,
20% and 30% off every rate; on Dedicated the Maritime team also sets up
your apps, images and network with you. Machines are billed per second at
hourly rates while awake: a persistent sandbox is $0.03 per vCPU-hour plus
$0.01 per GB-hour (1 vCPU and 2 GB is $0.05 an hour), an ephemeral sandbox
or one sandbox of a swarm is $0.0045 per vCPU-hour plus $0.00225 per
GB-hour (the default small size, 2 vCPU and 4 GB, is $0.018 an hour), a
Linux desktop $0.12 an hour, a Windows desktop $0.18 and an Android phone
$0.15. A sleeping machine pays only for its disk,
$0.08 per GB-month. Usage past the credit is billed at the same rates on
the same invoice. New accounts start with a 7-day free trial: a card is
needed to start the first machine and is not charged then, and usage
stops at $20. Cancel within the trial and nothing is charged; otherwise $20
is charged on day 7 and becomes that month's credit. Plans include no AI
credits. Details: https://maritime.sh/pricing

## The container contract, in four lines

1. Listen on 0.0.0.0:$PORT (injected; never hardcode 8080).
2. Answer GET /health with any 2xx.
3. Answer POST /chat {"message": "..."} within 30 s with text or JSON
containing one of response, reply, message, text, output.
4. Persist under /data only; the rest of the filesystem is disposable.
